Amendment 1- Freedoms
Congress cannot violate the freedom of religion speech, assembly, press, and to petition the government. These are basic rights that cannot be taken away from us.
Religion- The people have every right to believe in any religion or no religion at all without given any punishment.
Speech- The right to say something if you feel the need to.
Assembly- The right to get together on public property to discuss something.
Press- The press has the right to publish the truth about the government
Petition- You can ask the government to do or not do something.

Amendment 2- Weapons
The people have the right to own arms for self defence. However, each state has their own rules about how you can carry them in public. Some states say that you have to cover your weapon in public, while other states say you can roam freely with it in public.
Amendment 3- Quartering
No solider has the right to barge into someone's house without the owner's permission. The amendment is active whether it is war time or peace time.
Amendment 4- Warrants
The police cannot come and go through your house without a search warrant issued by the government. A warrant is a paper that states that the government has given permission to the police to go trough your house. Although, this will only happen in serious situations.
Amendment 5- Remain Silent
The right to not say anything to the police or in court if they think it is best for them not to. This amendment is the reason for the famous saying " I plead to the 5th".
Amentment 6- Court
Everyone has the right to a quick trial so they aren't sitting in jail for years. They also have the right to a lawyer to defend them so they don't lose the case. A person should not be found guilty of the reason that they had no one to fight for them. Lastly, they have the right to know the charges against them.
Amendment 7-Jury
People can have a trail by jury if they want no matter what the case is about. The people should have the assurance that the jury will be fair. Once the jury has made the decision, the judge cannot try to change it.
Amendment 8- Punishments
Excessive bail, expensive bails, and brutal punishments are prohibited. The judge has to be reasonable with the punishments and cannot try to be unique with the punishments.
Amendment 9- Rights
The people are not limited to the rights listed above. There are many other rights for them that are not listed in this document. One example is the right to pick your occupation. Another example is the right to choose when you want to get married.
Amendment 10- Extra Rights
Any power that is not given to the government goes to the states or the people. An example is the legal age of drinking is not listed in the constitution, so the states got that power and set the age.
