Article 1- Legislative Branch
The article talks about the rules Congress has to obey, Congress' powers, and the 2 houses of Congress. The article also gives Congress limits and powers. Their job is to make laws.The 2 houses are Senate and House of Representatives. House of Representatives + Senate = Congress. The Senate is in the North Wing and the House of Representatives is in the South Wing.
Article 2-Executive Branch
This article mainly deals with the president and executive members. It states the process of being elected and how they can be removed from office. It also lists their powers and what we, as citizens, expect of them. The president is the commander chief in the army, has the power to veto laws, and many more.
Article 3- Judical Branch
This section is about our court system. The courts have to abide by the Constitution while deciding cases. In addition, they describe the powers of the Judiciary Branch. The Judiciary Branch is made up of the Supreme Court and other lower courts.
Article 4- States
The founding fathers return their focus back on the states. The states have to respect each and every other state and their citizens. States have rules and regulations that they must abide by. Also the article explains the federal governments duty towards the states.
Article 5- Amendments
The makers of the constitution realize that they may need to change the constitution at some point in the future, which is why they made something called amendments. Amendments are changes to the constitution. This does not mean that people can change the constitution on regular basis. There is a long process of approving amendments. You need to first propose it, and if 3/4 of the state legislature or states at a special ratification convention approve the amendment, it will be ratified.
Article 6- Constitution
Any debts that the United States might have had before the Constitution was ratified, are still very much valid and we still have to repay them. Another topic this article touched upon is how powerful the constitution is. The constitution is above any law. This goes into play for all laws regardless if the law is by a county or state.
Article 7- Ratification
This article basically tells us how the constitution got ratified. 9 out of 13 states said yes, or approved it, before the Constitution could take effect.
